Getting to the Duck Valley
Indian Reservation


From Idaho
To get to the Duck Valley Indian Reservation from the Boise area, go east on Interstate 84 take exit 90 (first Mountain Home exit). Follow old highway 30 through Mountain Home then turn south onto Idaho State Highway 51 from Airbase Road. Duck Valley is approximately 90 miles from Mountain Home.


From Nevada
Take exit 301 in Elko, NV - if you're coming from Reno take a left on Mtn. City/NV-225 and if you're coming from Wendover, NV take a right on Mtn. City/NV-225. Follow NV-225 for 96 miles to reach the Duck Valley Indian Reservation


Getting to Mountain View, Sheep Creek, and/or Lake Billy Shaw
The three reservoirs of the Duck Valley Indian Reservation are Mountain View, Lake Billy Shaw, and Sheep Creek. Mountain View is the only reservoir on the Idaho side and access to the reservoir is at Idaho mile marker 2 where you will turn west at the sign for Mountain view Reservoir. The turn off for Lake Billy Shaw and Sheep Creek are .2 miles south of the town of Owyhee. Follow this road for 3 miles until a fork and go straight to get to Lake Billy Shaw or left to get to Sheep Creek Reservoir.


Mountain View - Electrical Outlets
Mountain View Reservoir campground has electrical power at each camp site and water spigots around the campground. Please see the map below for locations of the electrical site. Permits for the electrical hook-up sites can only be purchased through Owyhee ACE Hardware (on the DVIR) phone # (775) 757-2305.
