Community Notifications
REGISTRATION OF CONVICTED SEX OFFENDERS
Any and all convicted sex offenders who reside, are employed within the exterior boundaries of the Duck Valley Indian Reservation Nevada and Idaho or visit within the exterior boundaries of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of Duck Valley Indian Reservation Nevada and Idaho or other properties under the ownership of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes regardless of where the property is located for more than (3) business days; and community members; MUST REGISTER.
The Shoshone-Paiute Tribes SORNA Office, Bureau of Indian Affairs Law Enforcement Department are available to registering convicted sex offenders and providing notification to the community to protect the public.
The Shoshone-Paiute Tribes Sex Offender Registration Technician or designated Law Enforcement Agency shall take information from individuals wishing to report convicted sex offender(s) they suspect have failed to register. The Shoshone-Paiute Tribes Sex Offender Registration Technician will do a follow-up by contacting the States of Nevada or Idaho Sex Offender Registration Notification Departments.
If you are a convicted sex offender (Indian or Non-Indian, convicted of sex offense in the Shoshone-Paiute Tribal Court, State Courts of Nevada or Idaho, other state courts, federal court, military court, foreign court, and any other court) and if you have not registered with the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes Sex Offender Registration Notification Office, your failure to comply with registration is an offense under the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes Sex Offender Registration Notification Act (SORNA) provisions.
An offender, who fails to register, or provides false information is a criminal offense subject to Federal Failure-to-Register offense 18 U.S.C. 2250 which provides federal criminal penalties of up to 10 year imprisonment.
Failure-to-register, or providing false information, is also a tribal criminal offense subject to the tribal law and order code S-P T L & O C ORD. 2003-SPO-09, Section 4.15.020 (a) which provides criminal penalties up to 6 months to 1 year imprisonment on each count.

The Shoshone-Paiute Tribes have agreements with the states of Idaho and Nevada to perform their sex offender registration responsibilities. Please note that in order to search all sex offenders living, working, or going to school on the Shoshone-Paiute territory, you must search "Shoshone-Paiute Tribes" in both the Idaho and Nevada Sex Offender Registries.
