Fisheries:
There are three reservoirs and a reach of the Owyhee River that are open to angling at certain times of the year. Please see the map to identify the fisheries and landmarks of the Reservation. Fishing is allowed on all portions of the reservoirs except the inlet canals and spillways.Seasons and Time:
All fisheries can only be fished from two hours before sunrise until one hour past sunset.
Lake Billy Shaw: Open from April 1 to October 31
East Fork Owyhee River: Open from April 1 to October 31
Gear:
General regulations for all fisheries allow for fish to be caught with closely attended hook, line rod, and reel in the manner known
as angling. However, there are some differences between the reservoirs.Lake Billy Shaw and Owyhee River: These two fisheries are open for fly fishing only. Use only one fly rod, a single barbless hook, and an artificial fly consisting (and dropper) of natural and synthetic products. Only electric powered motors are allowed.
Harvest/Size Limits:
Lake Billy Shaw: Anglers may harvest one Rainbow trout per day ranging from 16 to 19 inches. Any trout smaller or larger than this size range must be released back into the water.
E. Fork Owyhee River: This fishery is catch and release only. All fish must be released.
